Polyacrylamide powder

There are two types of polyacryalmide powder, among which depend on difference charge in the molecular of polyacrylamid: CPAM polyacrylamide polymer& APAM polyacrylamide polymer.The different form of polyacrylamide powder for domestic water has different application in STP. Normally, Aionic polyacrylamide flocculant is used in pretreatment process and cationic polyacrylamide flocculant is used in dewatering process. 

The reason of using different chemical flocculant powder are as follows: 

1. In the pretreatment process, the wastewater carries a positive charge in this process and using inorganic+ APAM chemical flocculant powder will remove the SS value.  It will reduce the load of next process. 

2. In the dewatering process, after biochemical treatment, the excess sludge carries  a negative charge,  CPAM polyacrylamide polymer is suitable for the dewatering.

Direct discharge into natural water bodies should be avoided. Although PAM is biodegradable, a large amount of residue may affect the aquatic ecosystem. Expired or ineffective PAM powder should be sealed and handed over to a professional institution for disposal. Do not discard it casually.
